One thing I’ve learned over the years is that the music industry can sometimes be a little dirty, especially when it comes to melodies and unreleased ideas. People can hear a melody, a hook or a concept and run with it. It’s crazy, and it’s something every producer and artist should be aware of.
At the same time, I don’t believe in being too cautious. Sharing music is part of growth, collaboration and building connections. The key is knowing when and how to share your unreleased gems: with trusted collaborators, in controlled sessions, or in ways that give you credit for your work. Protecting your music doesn’t mean isolating yourself from opportunities.
For me, it’s about balance: being smart about what I release early, staying aware of my surroundings, and trusting my instincts while still creating openly. Music thrives when it’s shared, but your ideas are valuable, and it’s important to treat them that way.
